Castle Hill National Historic Site consists of the remains of French and British fortifications and outworks from the late 17th to the early 19th centuries that sit on the tip of a peninsula, high above Placentia Newfoundland, on the east side of Placentia Bay. It contains the remains of defensive walls, three military works, and a historic pathway.

Step back in time to the 18th century and imagine cannons and muskets blazing as British and French forces battled on the shores of Newfoundland, vying for control of a lucrative fishery. Discover the remnants of a stone fort and explore a chapter of history that determined the fate of a continent.

Le Lieu historique national du Canada de Castle Hill comprend les vestiges des fortifications françaises et britanniques et leurs dépendances, qui datent de la période allant de la fin du XVIIe siècle au début du XIXe siècle. Ce lieu est situé au bout d'une péninsule, et domine la ville de Placentia, à Terre-Neuve, sur la rive est de la baie de Plaisance.
