Kejimkujik National Historic Site of Canada is a
protected area in the centre of the broader Mi’kmaq cultural landscape
of Kespukwitk, one of the seven traditional districts of the Mi’kmaq. It
encompasses 404 square kilometres of land and water in central
south-western Nova Scotia’s Kejimkujik National Park of Canada. It is a
cultural landscape associated with the Mi’kmaq people, and incorporates
38 aboriginal sites, four petroglyph sites, three villages and a
cemetery.
Le lieu historique national du Canada Kejimkujik
est une aire protégée au centre du grand paysage culturel mi’kmaq de
Kespukwitk, un des sept districts traditionnels des Mi’kmaq. Il comprend
404 kilomètres carrés de terres et d’eau dans la partie sud-ouest
centrale du parc national du Canada Kejimkujik, en Nouvelle-Écosse. Ce
paysage culturel associé au peuple mi’kmaq renferme 38 sites
autochtones, quatre sites de pétroglyphes, trois villages et un
cimetière.
